rock climbing in Thailand
Trekkers are welcome to check out this modest climb area near the town of Chiang Rai, in northern Thailand.  Called "Crystal Bee Hill", it rises 100 meters with rural scenery stretching beyond the Mae Kok river nearby.  Many of the boulders and nearby routes have yet to be climbed.  The rock is limestone "karst"and somewhat clean, though being in a tropical climate, there are some patches with foliage. mntbest.jpg (41991 bytes)

Choose " free climbing" or "aid climbing" (with gear) .  All gear, except shoes, is available on site.  Beginners and/or experienced are welcome.  The facilitator is Ken Albertsen, an expat Californian living in Chiang Rai.
